Most pole fishermen will put together the float, line, weights and even the hook they plan to fish with before getting to the venue, this is known as a rig. These are tied via a loop onto the elastic via a dacron and bead but other methods for attaching a rig exist such as directly attaching the rig to the elastic, with a knot and bead.
